Alex Fitzpatrick Wins Hero Indian Open, Following Brother Matt into Winner's Circle

England's Alex Fitzpatrick has claimed his maiden professional title, winning the Hero Indian Open with an impressive comeback performance. He overcame a four-shot deficit to finish at nine-under-par, marking a historic achievement alongside his older brother. Just a week after Ryder Cup star Matt Fitzpatrick secured the Valspar Championship, the Fitzpatricks became the first brothers to win back-to-back weeks on the PGA and DP World Tours.

The 27-year-old Alex carded a round of 69, finishing two strokes ahead of overnight leader and defending champion Eugenio Chacarra, who shot a 75. In his 87th career start on the tour, Fitzpatrick earned €375,811. Visibly emotional after his victory, he shared, "It's been a lot of hard work for a long time. There are a lot of people to thank for this. As much as this is the most amazing thing in the world right now, there are more important things than golf in life."

Meanwhile, at the PGA Tour Texas Children's Houston Open, Gary Woodland holds a one-shot lead over Denmark's Nicolai Højgaard as he pursues his first victory since the 2019 US Open. Woodland posted a round of 65, bringing his total to 18-under-par, while Højgaard closed in with a 63. This event carries particular significance for Woodland, who underwent brain surgery in September 2023 and has openly discussed his struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder.
